How to define logic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

refers to both the study of modes of reasoning and the use of valid reasoning. In the latter sense, logic is used in most intellectual activities, including philosophy and science, but in the first sense, is primarily studied in the disciplines of philosophy, mathematics, semantics, and computer science. *from Wiki

My assignment is to define logic in 5-10 sentences, how can I do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, ok. Simplify means to make smaller and less complex. You want to make it more complex, so not simplifing. ... um....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I don't want to make it more complex. I just want to simply answer this question in 5-10 sentences

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am working on it, but if someone gives you a 2 sentense answer, and you want it to be 5 sentenses, then you do in fact want it more complex.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Logic is the theory of reasoning. Within philosophy, it deals with the theory of deductive and inductive arguments. Its aim is to differentiate between good and bad reasoning. It is used in Science, math, and day to day reasoning. Overall, it is the formal, guiding principles of a discipline, school, and science.
