can someone dumbify what Maurice Wilkins discovered??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he discovered dna. in simplest terms :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not alone of course but thats what he did.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well alittle more specifically please..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuss im learning about what things in dna people discovered

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay how specific?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

frostbite just hit it on the head thanks though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait is electrongativity even a word?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok what do i do now?? wait where are you getting these answers?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

I was thinking about Robert S. Mulliken. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronegativity#Mulliken_electronegativity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooh so what did maurice wilkins do?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

From my head, just a matter of remembering... don't worry i am sure about pauling have been studying his work lately... just made a mistake with this guy... know him for discribing the structure of DNA (DeoxyriboNucleic acid) along with Francis Crick and James Watson (Francis Crick and James Watson is more known in my eyes).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so he did what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Described the structure of DNA ... you know the double alpha helix with a phosphate backbone and the DNA being anti-parallel, one backbone being 3' (three prime) and the other 5' (five prime) and the four bases adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G) and thymine (T) is paired in a specific way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so he figured out what DNA was composed of?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

oh yea forgot to dumbify :P He figured out what DNA was composed of and how the three-dimensional structure looked like :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for dumbify it for me haha i have like have one more person for you to dumbify please?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Be fast then got to go very soon.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i could make it into another question so you can get another medal if you want

OpenStudy (frostbite):

sure if you like.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

James Watson what did he descuver

OpenStudy (frostbite):

lol... that is fast: he did 100% the same as maurice wilkins. ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wha?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you type in the other question i can give you a medal

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Francis Crick, James Watson and Maurice Wilkins where all together discovering the composition of DNA and the three-dimensional structure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooooooh thanks i want to give you a medal..all you have to do it write one letter i n the other box which i gave you the link to and i will give you a medal

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Heh no need ^^ i think that belong under one medal ^^ else you can see if anyone else can figure it out ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks so much for all your help!

OpenStudy (frostbite):

No problem at all.
