A derivative is defined in terms of a limit, but it's not the other way around.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

One definition of the derivative (in terms of a limit is) \[\Large f^{\prime}(x) = \lim_{h\to 0}\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h}\]
