1. Is osmosis a form of passive transport or active transport ? EXPLAIN

2.Describe the direction in which water will move if a cell is placed in a hypo-tonic solution.

3.explain how diffusion is involved in osmosis

1. osmosis is the diffusion of water down its gradient (H2O moves to where there is less water) so it takes no energy, therefore it's passive.
2. If a cell is placed in a hypotonic solution then water will go into the cell, causing the cell to swell.
3. Osmosis IS the diffusion of water: water moves down its gradient (high to low concentration)
