Why is glucose not a direct source of cellular energy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was from wiki answers just copied and paste @Clarence but it is not a direct source of cellular energy coz it has to be broken down into glycolase first, in order to be utilized or stored as what you call cellular energy, which of course makes it an indirect source of "cellular energy". @bhawks19
