two forces of 5 newtons and 15 newtons acting concurrently have a resultant with a magnitude of ? Dont i just add them since there both in the same direction and that would give me the magnitude?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn am i right?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, that correct same direction ----> add opposite direction ----> subtract if they are concurrent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for some reason 20 N isnt one of my chocies?

hartnn (hartnn):

10 or -10 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one of the choices is 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but dont u add?

hartnn (hartnn):

which means they are in opposite direction

hartnn (hartnn):

if in opposite direction, u subtract

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought concurrent meant parallel or converging

hartnn (hartnn):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!

hartnn (hartnn):

ok, welcome ^_^ understood clearly ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess i got it wrong because i thought conncurrent meant in the same direction, so i guess thats what threw me off, but yea i get it :) thanks again

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome again :)
