it all depends on how you are wanting the feather to be perceived by the reader. If you want the feather to be beautiful and soft, you could say "The feather was bathed in an angelic glow of magic and life. Its soft, airy weight caused it to flow gracefully through the trees, being carried by a gentile wind." If you want it to be mysterious and dark, then you could say "The black feather appeared to be floating mid-air while the presence of the crow, its former owner, lingered int he air, bidding it do lay its muddy being to rest on the hard forest floor." I am not at all sure what kind of answer you are looking for, but simply pulling out the descriptive words in this sentence should answer any other form of question you may have... hope this was what you were looking for :)
