Max went to the store and bought 22 apples. He bought twice as many red apples as he did green, and he bought one-third as many yellow as he did red. How many of each type of apple did he buy? A. 18 red; 8 green; 6 yellow B. 12 red; 6 green; 4 yellow C. 10 red; 5 green; 7 yellow D. 14 red; 7 green; 3 yellow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is b. 12 red 6 green 4 yellow because 6 x 2=12 and 4x3 =12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B. You can rule out A and D because they don't add up to 22. And then all you have to do is figure out the math (Look at cdog15) to see that C is wrong as well.
