Why K = {-1/2 } only ? This is result from book, I think K should be = {-1/2, 1/2 }. Thanks

you have to check your answer in the original equation to see whether it works or not
that is because you squared both sides and can therefore introduce a solution to the square that is not a solution to the original problem
