Factor Completely. 14x^2 + 63

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Do you see the suspicious common factor of 7 in there? That would be a good place to start.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7(2x^2+9) But i needa factor it completely.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You just did. Do we have to use Real Numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 2x^2 is not complete.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

set it equals to zero then solve 2x^2+9=0

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Yes it is, if we are stuck with Real Numbers. Why are you thinking about 2x^2 by itself. Your task is to factor 2x^2 + 9 or otherwise solve 2x^2 + 9 = 0. It CANNOT be done in the Real Numbers. You can try...

@tkhunny is right when. once you set it equals to zero you will get an imagery number. that was the reason i told you to set it to zero so that you can it for yourself lol
