HELP ASAP NEED DONE IN 5 MINUTES! Renee took a long flight to visit her family that lives out of the country. She slept for the first quarter of the trip and watched movies for half of the remaining flight. If the total trip took 9 3/4 hours, how long did Renee watch movies?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

can you rewrite 9 3/4 as an improper fraction?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or maybe even as a decimal would be fine

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if have the total hours, and divide them by 4 we can determine 3 of those quarters as the time awake, and divide it in half since half that time was watching movies \[[(total\div 4)\times3]\div2\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

which i believe works out to\[\frac{3*9.75}{8}\] if you can chk it on a calculator, and its not 4; should be a little less
