Can someone PLEASE tell me what this question is asking?! Not even the answer, just what it means?!

Where are the properties and definitions which are being used here?

a. (6 + (-3) + 4 = 7) = (4 + 6 + (-3) = 7)

b. (-7 + 8 = 1) > (-7 + -8 = -15)

c. (4 + 5) + 9 = 18) = (4 + (5 + 9 = 18)
