I have to pick my classes for next semester. I really wanna become an astronomer but im not good at math, I had to drop calculus this semester because I was doing poorly. I am worried that If I take it again the same thing will happen.. any advice?
I'm awful at calculus. But I have to take it so I got a tutor which helped a lot. Also joined a few study groups. I barely even had to go to class. I found that if I read over the material by myself it made more sense than trying to understand what the prof was teaching
you could also take it online if that is an option. Makes it a little easier because then you have all your material in front you instead of trying to memorize it and know how to apply it
go to class, take notes, do your homework, buy your solutions manual for your book, and come to openstudy to understand your process for solving problems.
do you know your trig functions? If not, take precalculus then calculus
Can you use a graphing calculator? It will help reinforce your information about graphs and critical points
Im not sure if i can use a graphing calculator as i havent even signed up for the course. Im just worried because the last 2 tests i took I failed :(
A lot of people failed the midterms in the course i am in right now... But if you take your time and ace the homework assignments and the final you can still pass the course
the last 2 test in which class?
I believe math is a skill you have to work on to improve. The more you do your homework, the easier it is to see your patterns
@ames1812 Which class are you taking?
I'm in math 110. It's just basic Calculus
