Does anyone know about Functions or the Function Rule? If so I need help...
Well, one function rule is that it must pass the vertical line test and have one y value for every x value
but i have notes and everything but i have no clue on how to solve any of the functions.! Example:\[(3,2) (3,8) (-2,-3) (0,7) (-1,5) (-4,2) (-3,7)\] how am i suppost to know if its a function or not?
You know if a set of coordinates is a function if there are NO repeating x values You know if a function is 1-1 if there are no repeating x or y values So for this example, this is not a function because there are two given values for 3: (3,2) and (3,8)
So are you saying there has to be atleast 1 same Input or Output? if i were to make it in to a input, output table... Sorry i just dont get Functions at all....
Its hard to explain because I dont uderstand...
Yea, I think I get what us saying so if u did make a table there could could only be one x value for every y... for example if the input values of: 1,2,3 and the outputs 4,5,6 that would be a function because each x value and one y value; no repeating x values If that makes sense...
So there cant be no repeating number in the x value? Would that be a funtion or not a function?
Sorry for the late reply... Yea no repeating x values = function :)
