One astronomer is using an electromagnetic wave to study the structure of the Milky Way galaxy. The electromagnetic wave has more energy than radio waves but less energy than visible light. What electromagnetic wave is the astronomer using? X-ray Gamma ray Microwave Ultraviolet radiation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ultraviolet radiation, Xray, and Gamma ray have higher energy than the visible light. So the answer is microwaves.

avc11 is correct - the others have higher frequencies (and hence energies) than visible light. UV has a shorter wavelength than visible, which is another way of saying it's got higher energy. These forms of radiation are more harmful because of their higher energy.
