OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the number of chromosomes in body cells compared to gametes (five letters in a crossword)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Our "gametes" are our sex cells. And our body cells have TWICE as many chromosomes as our sex cells.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great thanks it fits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Qq is a_____ genotype (12 spaces)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since you only need 12 down, I'll just give it to you. It's "heterozygous." Just take a look at the clue, so that you can remember the definition. Good luck on your test tomorrow!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. Well that's not a very helpful clue, is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Heterozygous" is where there are two different alleles, for a gene. You can recognize heterozygous genotypes, because there's always one capital letter, and one lowercase letter. Like Rr.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks you are wonderful!

You're welcome =)
