I am helping my niece out with 3rd grade math: How many 10s are in 432? Is it 3 or 30?

I assume you mean how many 10's are indicated in the "ten's place" as in 3 (If this were money, counted out in 10 dollar bills, you could use 43 tens, which I assume is not what this question is asking)

to finish up there are 4 "one hundreds" 3 "tens" 2 "ones"
