y2-9 5y ----- x ---- 2y y-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simplify (y^2 - 9) = (y+3)(y-3) now just cancel out the common terms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y^2-9 = (y+3)(y-3)|dw:1353171711050:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about ? s^2-2s s-5 --------- divided by ----- s^2+3s-10 s+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the fist numorator you can factor out one s so you get s(s-2)

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

then the equation will b like this just s+5 goes to numerator and s-5 in denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

s^-2s = s(s-2) s^2+3s-10 = (s+5)(s-2) Now do it as I did the first problem...also use this a/b divided by c/d = ad/bc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the denominator you need to find to varibles that add to 3 and multilpy to -10 which would be (s-2) and (s+5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it s-2 ----- s-5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can simply this by concelling out some things

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No..it should be s/s-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1353172366399:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1353172393823:dw| sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefor s-2 would cancel and s+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused . so what is the answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so answer s divided s-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

s/s-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks!
