What is a necessary and a sufficient condition for a polynomial P(x) to be divisible by (x − a)(x − b)(x − c) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That P(x) can be factored as (x − a)(x − b)(x − c) times R(x) where R(x) is itself another polynomial.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well its the factor theorem P(a) = 0, P(b) = 0 and P(c) = 0
