What you need to know is, first, that life depends on chemical reactions within the body, and that death can result if an essential reactant for some reactions -- such as oxygen -- is used up and no more supplied. Second, you need to know how the speed of chemical reactions is related to temperature. Since chemical reactions happen when molecules collide with each other, and the speed of molecules is directly proportional to temperature (higher temperature = faster molecules), what do you think?
