explain your reasoning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that we do not hear the sonic boom. But I don't understand exactly why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you don't hear the sonic boom continuously because the sonic boom only happens when the jet reaches the speed of sound, or mach 1

OpenStudy (ghazi):

well, i think we won't hear anything , because its sealed and air tight so probably no sound inside at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont hear anything. sonic boom is created when an object moves faster than sound due to accumulatice collision of sonic waves.. so i think you wont hear anything just bcoz you are travelling faster than sound...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how could u possibly hear anything sitting inside.....,it is the source of sound........sonic boom occurs when frequency of supersonic aircraft matches with SURROUNDING frequency of other objects' atoms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait I thought that the boom would not be continuous? why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

resonance is caused by matching frequency
