why the earth is not in thermal equilibrium with the sun

to maintain a thermal equilibrium both the bodies should have equal heat content so that no heat flows from higher to lower heat content area, therefore you can imagine how much heat is required to maintain thermal equilibrium between earth and sun, and i don't think earth is capable of maintain ecological balance with that much heat :D
