please explain i am sooooo confused Write an inequality for each and solve. Be sure to check your solution for reasonableness. Jim is three years older than his cousin Bob. Jim’s age is less than 21. How old is Bob?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Bob's age = x Jim's age = 3x 3x < 21

but my school says somethign different

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Yes, your school is right.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Ops! My bad. I mis read. i read 3 TIMES the age of Bob. :S

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

3 years older... If I am 17 and someone is 3 years older... 17 + 3 = 20 that person is 20

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

it will be: Bob's age = x Jim's age = x+3 x+3 < 21
