Determine the period of this function. http://media.education2020.com/EVresources/648-14-11-00-00_files/i0260000.jpg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go from lowest point to lowest point how long an interval is that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or for that matter from highest point to highest point? same length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4pi ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! So when asked that again just determine the length of the interval from highest to highest point (or lowest to lowest)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that should work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

notice that if you went from one zero to the next it will not work, but would if you went twice you are really suppose to visualize over what length the function goes before it repeats

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw

The definition of a "period" is the time it takes to go through one complete cycle, so from peak-to-peak or from any point to any point that will give you one complete copy of the graph.
