Can anybody suggest me a good Math project on which I can make a creative model? Well I have got the topic called origami but I dont know how to relate it with Math! :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can try calculus esp. differential equations

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

how many times can you fold a piece of paper in half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we dont have that topic! Can you suggest something else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't folding origami? seems good enough for me, if you want an easy project

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uncle rhaukus is it seven times that we can fold a paper in half ?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

pretty much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

instead of how many times u can fold a paper, make an equation where you can relate how thich the paper will be if you fold it n times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thick*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the thickness is a simple sum of the geometric progression upto n terms...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it gonna work at first year college level??I doubt.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh should have said its college level

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup that would be too easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what topic did you learn/ are you learning?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually I can choose any topic I want to...but I want it to be interesting and creatIVE!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, you might want to try to use maths to reduce a picture into origami models.
