The internet has made new methods of buying and selling goods possible. From your computer, you can trade in items from all over the world, without ever meeting the people who helped make or transport them. How did people trade items across great distances before we had computers?

maybe you could get mre help in history section.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is history.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol and besides im just curious, its not for a test or anything.

Before computers, you would have to travel far distances to get an item from one place to another. An example of a way you could get something from one place to another is by boat if it's overseas. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

seems to me that by boat it took months.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure it did. I mean, I'm just going off knowledge I already know. You have to figure that they crossed oceans which are the biggest bodies of water in the Earth. It must have been dangerous too, think about how scary the thought of the boat sinking must have been!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh yeaa. my mom is sooo scared of the ocean. i wouldnt have the patience for it lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I can't swim so I'm scared when I can't see my feet in the water haha :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh lol i can understand that
