Students from two high schools went to a band competition. Each student gave a solo performance and was rated by the judges. The possible scores ranged from 3 (one point from each judge) to 21 (seven points from each judge). The data show the scores of two groups of students. WESTLAKE STUDENT SCORES:15,17,21,21,15,9,18,15,3,11 NORTHSHORE STUDENT SCORES: 16,8,10,10,5,20,12,7,10,9 Find the mean and the range of the data for the Westlake High School students and for the Northshore High School students. Use your results to compare the scores of the students from the two high schools.

The range for each is the lowest score to highest. That's listing 2 scores for each school. You don't need the in-between numbers. The mean for each school is adding up all ten numbers and dividing by 10, separately for each school.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Westlake is 3 to 21 Northshore is 5 to 20. That's for the range. Averaging should be clear, right?
