the first step is plugging 'a' into \[\frac{ f(x) -f(a) }{x-a}\]
the second step is using the given: f(x) = 1/x
the third steps is finding a CD in the numerator and then simplifying
the last step is taking the limit x->2
Can you show me how to find a common denominator...That is the step that I am really lost at
