Please help! :)
i believe it is B
You're considering four different transformations. Let's take a look at them: A.) S[6/7] This is a scale of 6/7 - in other words, we're going to reduce the size of the figure to 6/7 its original size. This doesn't cause the orientation of the figure to change at all, so the line QU in the image is aligned the same as in the original. Thus, they are parallel. B.)r(y=x) This is a reflection across the line y=x - We're going to 'flip' the figure across this line. When you reflect across the line x = y, you swap the coordinates of each point in the figure, so the points (x,y) in the original becomes points (y,x) in the image. Thus, the line QU in the image can be parallel (consider the endpoints of QU being (0,0) and (1,1)), perpendicular (endpoints (0,0) and (0,1)), or neither. C.) T[-8,3] This is a translation - each point in the figure will be shifted -8 in x and 3 in y. Since every point is shifted, this changes the position, but not shape or orientation, of the figure. Thus, QU in the original and QU in the image will be parallel. D.) R(270) This is a rotation - the entire image will be rotated 270 degrees, or 3/4 of the way around. Since this rotates the line QU to 90 degrees away from the direction it had been facing, the two QU lines will be perpendicular.
Wow wow wow. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This really helped! :)
Good =D
