Please help! TRIG. one cycle of a sin function begins at x=-pi/4 and ends at x=15pi/4, how would i find the 1) phase shift 2) period 3) k value

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

don't know what you mean by the k value, but sin(x) normally starts at x = 0 so the phase shift is pi/4 units to the left the period is the length of the cycle, so it is 15pi/4 - (-pi/4) = 15pi/4 + pi/4 = 16pi/4 = 4pi

thanks so much for the help
