How do you divide? (2x^4-3x^3-4x+12)/(x-2) you can use long division, but I got stuck while using that method...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use synthetic division for dividing by monomials.

Okay I'll try synthetic division! Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2 x^3+x^2+2 x+\frac{12}{x-2} \]

When I did long division that's basically what I got, but I didn't know what to do with the 12 when I brought it down, now I understand! Thanks!
