Define Carrying Capacity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In biology, the "carrying capacity" is the largest number of individuals, in a species, that an environment can support. An environment has a limited supply of food, water and shelter. It doesn't have enough of these things, in order to support an infinite number of organisms, you see? That's why environments have a carrying capacity.
