a triangle with sides measuring 3 yards, 4 yards, and 5 yards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is that the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its because if you consider a right angle triangle with base = 3 yards and perpendicular = 4 yards then its hyp will be = 5 yards because of pythagoras theorm (3^2+4^2)^1/2 = 5

okay thanks

3 ,4 ,5 are the only consective integers which can be associated with right angled triangle as base, perpendicular and hyp.
