When there are 20 apple trees per acre, the average yield has been found to be 700 apples per tree. For each additional tree planted per acre, the yield per tree decreases by 12 apples per tree. How many additional trees per acre should be planted to maximize the yield? (Round your answer to the nearest whole number.)

I know how to get (20+x)(700-12x) and I get 14000+460x-12x^2, but after that point I'm not sure what to do to get my answer.

I got the answer, it was 19. It just took awhile to figure out the graphing part of the question.

The answer is 39. Refer to the attached solution generated by the Mathematica 8 Home Edition program.
