You are a little vague. Who is the person? What is the setting? What is the mood? All of this information will help.

The best way to describe someone's personality, is through the small things about them; their reactions in certain situations, and how the deal with daily obstacles. For example: A girl who walks with her arms folded all the time may suggest that she feels vulnerable, and a man who chews the tips of his pencils may suggest that he becomes nervous in exam/school settings.

You don't need to say: "Person X is really nice." By saying; "Person X continually donates to charity and volunteers with local community aid programs," you are implying that the person has a moral compass and to an extent, would be considered "nice."

Remember, actions speak louder than words.
