you will create your own interest group to address one of the social needs of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Use your knowledge and your 21st-century skills to: choose an issue relevant to the late 1800s or early 1900s to address prepare a one-paragraph summary of the issue choose a name for your group thinking as a person living during this time period, draw up a list of demands (about five or six) and discuss which are the most important and which you are willing to limit through compromise choose meeting times and places appropriate to the people who would be involved

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg i did this yesterday xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lemme see what i can do...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so first of all pick an issue for example you could do "Child Labor Reform" "Tenements" or "Labor Reform"...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok sweet wow its funny that you done the same one :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ikr XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so once u pick one (lemme know which one u chose...)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok hold on i am working on another assignment lol so giv me a sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Child Labor Reform

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok GOOD because I found it the easiest and that's what i chose!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first part of the assignment is just writing a paragraph.... For example: The way young, innocent, precious children are ruthlessly ‘worked to death’ should be inhumane! Children SHOULD NOT be demanded to work! They are too young to be engaging in such long, arduous, labor all day long in such terrible, unsanitary, unhealthy, and often hazardous conditions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's how I started my paragraph out just to give you some inspiration for yours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok cool i am sorry can you wait another sec.....i need to see y my html coding isnt working correctly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem.......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after you write a paragraph then, you choose a name for your 'interest group' so mine was CLR's for Child Labor Reformers xD (i know very unoriginal) but i couldn't think of anything else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(try and make yours better than mine.....)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha ok then :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then after that you just make up your own list of demands or things that you require to change about child labor.... For example: This is what I wrote: List of Demands: 1. Children should no longer work in unsanitary and hazardous conditions at the workplace. 2. Children should not work such long hours. 3. Children need to go to school. 4. Children need frequent breaks. 5. Children need some good fresh air. 6. Children need time to play and be with their friends.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats up with 5 lol they need fresh air??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the name of your 'interest group'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um idk i had to make up something XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha yea i like the others but that one kinda made me laugh cause that is y they are getting breaks....is to get some air..Right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess I was thinking about the ones that worked in the goldmines and they get like no air circulation in there so it would be nice if they got to go outside sometimes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o i see what you mean now.... :D good thinking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so whenever your done with all that then you have to " discuss which are the most important and which you are willing to limit through compromise" *self explanatory*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

FINALLY LAST PART:"choose meeting times and places appropriate to the people who would be involved"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just picked like church i guess... and i put some random times XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg this one thing is a pretty long assignment....js

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ik! it took me FOREVER!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i sorta rushed the last part XD so i might not be right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u need anymore help just message me I'll be listening to all time low and doing my history homework haha later......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

later yea i got a lot of history to do...... :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ditto........... :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many are you behind ?? i am 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the teach said im only 20% done in his class! i was like holy crap! :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well that was last week... As of today, I might finish!!! Cause I only have 7 more to do :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dang yea i am in the same boat...if ya know what i mean but after i get this assignment done i will be able to catch up fairly fast

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyway, GOOD LUCK! ;D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lucky you :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey this is my strategy knock out all of the exam multiple choice things and then go back and do the hard stuff.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

works for me lol (unless your teach prefers u to go in order...)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to go in order or i would do the same but my other assignments are locked until i get this one done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow that sucks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea your telling me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey how does this sound?? The way young children are forced to get worked to death should be illegal and frowned upon! Children shouldn’t be forced to work! They are young and have their whole lives to work instead they get pushed to work at such an early age. The way I see it if they are to work why put them in such unsafe environments and then expect them to work as an adult with the hours they are given.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and for a name how does Savior Foundation(SF) Sound??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow that's WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than mine!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A+ ^-^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha thanx <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What bout my demands?? List of Demands: 1. Children shouldn’t be working in unsafe environments. 2. Children should be limited to lower hours. 3. Children should be pushed more towards furthering their education. 4. Children need longer or more breaks than usual. 5. Children should have time to enjoy their childhood instead of working all the time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That sounds GREAT!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk do you turn this in through that turnitin website??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um idk what you mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you with FLVS or OCVS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

connection academy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok then no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ight thanx :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anytime :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I'm actually doing this lesson now, but the last question in this asks me to make a poster, I was wondering if either of you had to do that and what yours looked like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did any of y'all get the poster done? I finished everything but that. @Hannah28 @everygirl @swageraid32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Has anyone done the poster? Lol, I'm finished with everything except that. @Hannah28 @evergirl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha Im on the same boat as @hannah28 and @jadaaa can anyone tell me what they did so i can see an example?
