Is it legal for a man in California to marry his widow's sister?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If his wife is a widow, that means he's dead. So it's not possible.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^ @PedroSoccer , are you sure? This is California we're talking about... ;-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know, that im confused.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@CliffSedge haha that is true... ;-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But yes, @Rezz5 , dead people are typically not allowed to marry. (Maybe they can in California, but it's hard to say, "I do" when you're no longer breathing)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it's true love then go for it. Even if it is a corpse.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its a classic riddle . . . sister of man's widow means that the man has already died because the wife is now a widow . . so he (being dead) cannot marry her sister
