alright, Jim Crow is set of discriminatory laws against african americans in south followed by civil war. Plessy vs ferguson was supreme court case that seek to challenge Jim Crow law but they didn't succeed. Supreme Court upheld Jim Crow : Separate But Equal

a. The initiative- b. Recall- if you don't like your representative or governor , you can call for election right away instead of waiting. c. Referendum- you can put issue( like gay marriage, abortion ) for vote and let people decide . d. Direct election of senators- people elect senators directly instead of old ways e. Reform of labor laws- child labor law, minimum wage, worker compensations, union rights. f. Efforts to improve living conditions for the poor in cities- big society by lbj
