6 (-2x+1)= -3(4x+2) last equation I don't understand.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you expand both sides? -12x+6 = -12x +6 ? is there any value of x that won't satisfy this equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I did and I got 6=-6 as my final answer. Is there no solution to this equation?

\[\checkmark\]

You essentially are trying to find the crossing of two lines that are parallel. -12x -6 and -12x + 6 different lines that are parallel don't intersect. Therefore there is no x that satisfies that equation.

Thank you c: I appreciate the help.
