Why are there more herbivores than carnivores

there are more herbivores and carnivores because hervibores belong to second tropic level due to which suffient energy to sustain life of herbivores but as we move from one tropic level to other the amount of usable energy becomes lesser . Therefore , very less energy is available at third or fourth or any other further tropic levels to which the carnivores mainly belong. Therefore , population of carnivores is less than herbivores
