Static Magneticfield? When a magnet is placed on a table and there is no object that can be attracted to it, or change anything. Is that considered a static magnetic field situation? If so, if the magnetic is moving, is it still a dynamic field? Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think its like this. . . static field may be when magnetic flux is constant and dynamic when magnetic flux of magnet is changing with respect to time or position. . .

OpenStudy (ghazi):

if i place a magnetic bar on the table and i place an iron nail there , certainly magnet will attract that nail, but yes as @theyatin said magnetic flux can be constant but i think there is no terminology as dynamic for magnetic field in more general it's changing magnetic field and constant and changing magnetic field is something where amount of magnetic flux is changing due to the variable on which magnetic flux depends

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ghazi i sadi the same in somekind of oscilators particals are accelerated by changing magnetic field. . . its just increase in flux. . .

OpenStudy (ghazi):

exactly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its all dependent on the magnetic flux?

OpenStudy (ghazi):

yes, if flux is changing it is referred as dynamic but generally changing magnetic field and if it is constant then its constant magnetic field and all governed by quantity of magnetic flux

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Interesting. In what cases can the flux change? Could you spare some example?
