A golf ball is hit from the ground with an initial speed of 192 feet per second. Assume the starting height of the ball is 0 feet. How long will it take the golf ball to hit the ground?

OpenStudy (phi):

did they give you a formula ?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

use one of the equations of constant acceleration s = ut + 0.5at^2 where s = displacement, u = initial velocity, a = acceleration due to gravity, t = time here s = 0, u = 192 ft/sec, a = -32 ft/sec/sec and t = time in seconds a is negative as it opposes the motion of the ball note this applies only if the ball is directly vertically upwards

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

if , as is usual of course, is hit at angle less than 90 degrees with the ground this angle needs to be given and the answer will be completely different
