Please, really Quickly!!!I need help with sad titles for a short story I have to write in English class? Anyone have any they wouldn't mind sharing?

BTW, I suck at titles, and that is why I need help!!

OpenStudy (nikolas):

Have you written the story already? I find sometimes its easier to come up with one after you have a better idea of what the story will be about. Some titles are in the form of quotations from the story, or serve as some kind of metaphorical reference to the story's theme. That's especially important in poetry but examples are also found in books - for example, Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" refers to both the narrator's feelings and the physical "heart" or centre of the Congo that he travels to (there are lots of other interpretations as well). There are lots of good examples in Dubliners by James Joyce too... but really you can see excellent use of titles as a literary device just about anywhere if you keep a good eye out for them. Hope that helps a little, good luck :-)

Well, yeah, I have, nut I can't think of titles....I always have trouble, that is why I need people to list some to help me.

I really don't think it would be very effective for us to list random titles with no idea what the story is even about. If you "suck at titles" then the best way to improve is the same way you would improve in math, athletics, or any other skill - practice. Just sit down for a few minutes and write as many titles as you can think of (it doesn't matter if they seem good or bad) or even just words that are related to your story. You should be able to put a few of them together.
