PLEASEEE help with geo problem :( find the volume of the regular pyramid. https://media.glynlyon.com/g_geo_2012/8/groupi77.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 16 sqrt 2 but its saying its wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the volume is just the area of the base times height.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i dont understand how it would be in square root form?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

did you find the area of base?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt it 16

OpenStudy (nubeer):

hmm no.. the base is like a triangle.. not square.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well how would you find it ? multiplying length and width?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

hmm no.. area of triangle = 1/2 *base *height,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 8?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

yes i think so.. vol of pyramid = 1/3 * area of base * height of pyramid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 8 times 4 ? which is 32?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

i am not sure if 4 is the height as the diagram is very much titlted.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what would you think it is? because i can always try it and see if its right or wrong. it gives me another chance. but would it be 32 sqrt 3?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

how you got this answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

32 from the area and 3 because of 1/3 actually im not sure im really confused

OpenStudy (nubeer):

hmm no dont think so it should be 32/3 then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay then what ?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

i think this should e the volume of pyramid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

32 sqrt 3?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

noo.. how you get square root.. i never get square root.. i got 32/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the answer format has this |dw:1353832060046:dw|

OpenStudy (nubeer):

hmm then we made some mistake earlier.. i think probably should be height or the area of base.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know what to do :(

OpenStudy (nubeer):

hmm ask someone else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like? ive been asking this for the whole day

OpenStudy (nubeer):

just tag people .. ask Hatrn or any other moderator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks for your time.
