I started from the top, and rewrote the paragraph.  I think you have too much unnecessary information.  Keep it simple, I always say.  Here you go:

Even though I do not have the grade that I wish to have in your writing class, I have put a lot of effort into my assignments.  I spend hours each night studying for your quizzes and trying to grasp the course content.  However, despite my diligence, I do not understand properly.  For this reason, I have been visiting the tutoring center for help with my assignments.  I have also been to the writing center for help with proofreading because I want to improve my writing skills for your class, as well as for my future.  
In conclusion, I hope that you will consider my perseverance when grading my work.
