Write an equation of a line that passes through (9,-5) and (3,-5).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This time we are going through step by step together. Do you remember the formula for slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that is the general formula for the equation of a line what I am asking for is the formula to solve for the "m" in the equation you just gave. I gave the slope formula back in the first equation I helped you with if you are stuck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m=y1-y2 ------- x1-x2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes now use the points they gave you where one point is (x1, y1) and the other point is (x2 y2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 14 and 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do not know how you got two numbers . . . \[m=\frac{ -5-(-5) }{ 9-3 }=\frac{ -5+5 }{ 6 }=\frac{ 0 }{ 6 }=0\] one again this line has a slope of zero, it is a straight line

ok im going to post the last question now in a new question
