A ballplayer catches a ball 3.0s after throwing it vertically upward. With what speed did he throw it, and what height did it reach? Answer: 15 m/s and 11m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Note: \(S=u t + \frac{1}{2}at^2\). when S=0, i.e. displacement is zero, the ball returns to the hand, and a=-9.8, t=3, you'll get the initial speed that way. Use tha same formula to get the height.
