I have a question regarding the intext citation and works cited entry of a government PDF file. There's a lot of information in regards to authors, publishers, sponsors, and everything, and I have no idea how to format it. For reference, here is the link to the PDF file I'm using in my essay. http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/statistics/publications/ois_ill_pe_2011.pdf

Google Owl Purdue and they have all sorts of help when it comes to citations.

Already been there.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Alrighty, which referencing style do you use? (and I'm not entirely sure - what exactly is your question? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

MLA format. I don't know how to best put together that link into a works cited entry. Or how to use it in an in text citation.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Hmmm looks like you would include most of the information (according to this website anyway): http://www.lib.sfu.ca/help/writing/gov-docs-mla So maybe something like (not too sure on how to display authors as I don't use MLA - you'll need to format them correctly): HOEFER, MICHAEL, RYTINA, NANCY AND BAKER, BRYAN, Title (in italics), [USA], [U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security] [2011] Web (add date accessed)

OpenStudy (trancenova):

and for in-text looks like you list author then page number http://www.lib.sfu.ca/help/writing/mla
