12 (m+1/2)=24 How do I do this? Thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, divide both sides by 12, then subtract 1/82 from both sides. M should evaluate to 1 1/2

subtract 1/82?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You distribute 12 to the numbers inside the parenthesis. So that would be 12m + 6 =24 and then you subtract 6 on both sides so that would be 12m = 18. Then divide 12 on both sides so it will be m = 6/9 but u can still simplify that so it'll be 2/3

oh ok i get it thanks :)
