work and power are different because
well.. Work is kind of a measure of how much energy you spent!!....so for example. you push a bed.. across 5 m.. you get spent.. you get tired right?? thats cause you did some work (however.. just cause you get tired doesn't mean you did work .. for example.. if you try pushing a wall.. you get tired .. but technically you did no work.. cause the wall didn't move).. anyhow.. what is power.. ?? power is HOW FAST you can do work!
so.. maybe i can you can push the bed five meters easily!!.. so we can easily do the same amount of work.. i can say we are both equally energetic!!.. however if i can do the work FASTER.. i am more POWERFUL!.. that is the true meaning of the word POWERFUL.. how fast you can do work!!... So may be a BULKY huge muscular guy maybe energetic.. need not necessarily powerful!!.. usually martial arts champions are POWERFUL ..
i was trying to explain using some real life examples!
i am sorry if that was your homework question and you needed an answer in one line :D
Power = rate of doing work
P = ΔW/Δt As mentioned earlier, work is a measure of how much energy you spend whereas power is how much work per unit of time.
well power is the rate of doing work that is power is the entity required to do some work in a particular time
